Goblin, fea, and Fresno Night Crawler around a camp fire as the goblin shares stories

Welcome to SockGoblinz!

Sockgoblinz is a place to learn about folktales, fairytales, and all things wondrous. From covering topics such as the modern day mythical creatures, sharing caught on camera footage, or my faviorite folktales. Sock goblinz is a place to put away your doubts on what can be possible and add a bit of whimsy to your life.

Terms you should know:

Cryptids: a creature that people widely believe to exzist without scientific proof (Ex: Freson Night Crawler, Mothman)(Merriam-Webster, n.d)

The following words will be (and often are) used Interchangeably but there is a slight difference in definition that I feel is important to point out.

Folktales: “a characteristically anonymous, timeless, and placeless tale circulated orally among a people” (Merriam-Webster, n.d)

Folklore: “an often unsupported notion, story, or saying that is widely circulated” (Merriam-Webster, n.d)

Fairytales:  “a story (as for children) involving fantastic forces and beings (such as fairies, wizards, and goblins)” (Merriam-Webster, n.d)
